  • Initial velocity = 2 m/s

  • Final velocity = 0 m / s

  • Distance travelled = 4 cm = 0.04 m

Formula = v² - u² = 2as

\implies 0² - 2² = 2 × a × 0.04

\implies- 4 = 0.08a

\impliesa = - 4 / 0.08

\impliesa = - 50

Answer:

Explanation:

Given,

u = 2m/s

v = 0

S = 4cm = 0.04m

We know that,

v² - u² = 2aS

Since v² is zero,

-u² = 2aS

-(2)² = 2 * 0.04 * a

Therefore,

a = \frac{-4}{2 * 0.04}

  = - 50 m/s²

Since acceleration is -50m/s², Retardation will be 50m/s²

I do so hope that this helps you.
