  • We know that velocity of rifle×mass of rifle=..velocity of bullet×mass of bullet
  • So we get 60 × x=12 × 2.5
  • So we get x=12×2.5/60
  • So x=0.5m/s

Answer:

500 m/s

Explanation:

m_1 = Mass of bullet = 0.06 kg

m_2 = Mass of rifle = 12 kg

v_1 = Final Velocity of bullet

v_2 = Final Velocity of rifle = 2.5 m/s

Since both the bullet and rifle start from rest

m_1v_1=m_2v_2\\\Rightarrow v_1=\frac{m_2v_2}{m_1}\\\Rightarrow v_1=\frac{12\times 2.5}{0.06}\\\Rightarrow v_1=500\ m/s

The velocity of the bullet is 500 m/s
