its easy

first intial momentum of bullet and block is

40.1 kgm/s + 4×0 =40.1

after strike when bullet embedded it means now the inertia of block and bullet is same

therefore final momentum

= 4.1v

now intial momentum =final momentum

so, 4.1v=40.1

v (block speed)= 40.1/4.1= 10 (approx)

now loss of kinetic energy

is =1/2×0.1×(401)^2

= 0.1/2×160801

=8040.1

=1/2×40.1×100

=20 ×100=2000

loss =(160801-2000)

=158801 J
