It finally stopped. So change in energy is nothing but initial energy of energy of bullet
Initial energy of bullet = 0.5mv^2
= 0.5 × 20 g × 10^-3 kg/g × (40 m/s)^2
= 16 joules
Change in energy of bullet is 16 joules

= 16 joules
