Answer:

  • Here on earth a bullet will climb at a decelerating speed to apogee. and lose any remaining spin as it redirects towards the ground.
  • A 22-250 bullet has a muzzle velocity of approx. 4200 FPS,(2,863 MPH).
  • An average falling bullet will reach its terminal velocity around 300 FPS (204 MPH). About 9.5 times slower than the bullet's initial velocity.

Mass of bullet⇨50g⇨0.05kg

Velocity ⇨100m/s

•°•Momentum ⇨0.05×100

Momentum ⇨5kgms-²

Now mass of barrel ⇨x

velocity of barrel⇨60m/s

•°•Momentum ⇨60xkgms-²

We know momentum get conserved

so momentum of bullet = momentum of barrel

•°• 5kgms-² = 6x kgms-²

→6x=5

→x = 0.8kg

Therefore mass of barrel is 0.8kg
