A bullet of mass 50g is fired from a gun of mass 4kg. If the speed of the bullet is 100ms-1, what is the recoil speed of the gun?

By applying the Conservation of Momentum we can easily find the answer as I have attached in the image .

*Edit : The initial momentum equals the final momentum of the whole system.

(Here I missed to write that the initial momentum of the gun is 0 because it's initial velocity is 0, So you can directly apply formula and can get to your answer )

it is - 1.25 bcoz -

1) mathematically , +5 becomes -5 on moving it to the opposite side.

2) in physics motion chapter , Newton's 3rd law of motion states that with every applied force there is an equal and opposite reaction.

so here , 4V = -5 → V = -5/4so applied force ( 1.25 ) = reaction (-1.25) ( equal from digit, opposite from value)mark me the brainliest now
