According to the law of conservation of momentum:

M₁V₁=M₂V₂

M₁=mass of gun V₁=velocity of gun

M₂=mass of bullet V₂=velocity of bullet

So, equating the law of conservation of momentum

4 × recoil velocity of pistol = 0.07 × 150

So,

Recoil velocity of pistol= (150×0.07)/4

= 2.625 m/s
