= 1/2 × (30 × 10⁻³) × 400²
= 1/2 × 3 × 10⁻² × 16 × 10⁴ J
= 2400 J ...(i)
The entire K.E is used in doing work against the average force exerted by the wall.
If F is the average force, we can write
work done, W = F × 10/100
W = 0.1 F .... (ii)
From Eq (i) and (ii), we get
0.1 F = 2400
or, F = 24000 N
