A bullet was thrown vertically upwards from a height , reaches it's maximum height in 4seconds. Calculate the initial velocity of the bullet and the total distance the bullet travels by the time it reaches the maximum height.

initial velocity =?

time t = 4 sec

g = 10 m/sec^2

by formula v = u- gt

v = 0 because bullet is throughing upward

hence 0 = u - 10×4

u = 40 m/ sec

now by formula

h = ut - 1/2 gt^2

h = 40 ×4 -1/2 10×4^2

= 160 - 80 = 80 meter
