a burning matchstick cn ignite a smal splint of wood but not a log of wood.. gv reasons

A log of wood has a huge bulk and volume than small splint of wood. In order to catch fire, we have to attain the ignition temperature of wood . For this we have to supply large amount of heat , which the matchstick doesn't give.

a burning match stick can burn a small splint of wood but not a log of wood because the burning match stick does not causes the log of wood to reach its ignition temperature . As the ignition temperature is not reached the wood does not complete the conditions of combusion
