AnnswEr :

The acceleration is 1 m/s².

GivEn :

Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s [As the bus has started from rest ]

Final velocity (v) = 36 km/h = 36 × 1000/36000[Covert into m/s] = 10 m/s

Time(t) = 10 s

To find :

Acceleration = ?

Solution :

As we know the formula of acceleration,

So according to it,

\dashrightarrow\sf \ \ \ a =  \dfrac{v - u}{t}  \\  \\  \\

\dashrightarrow\sf \ \ \ a =  \dfrac{10 - 0}{10}  \\  \\  \\

\dashrightarrow\sf \ \ \ a =  \dfrac{10}{10}  \\  \\  \\

\dashrightarrow\sf \ \ \ { \underline{ \boxed{ \bf{ \purple{a = 1m {s}^{ - 2}}}}}} \ \bigstar \\  \\

Therefore, the acceleration is 1m/s².

Additional Information :

Acceleration is the rate of change of the velocity of an object or a body with respect to the time .

In simple terms, acceleration is vehicle's capacity to gain speed.

It is given by the formula,

\dag \ \ { \boxed{\large{\rm{a =  \dfrac{v -  v_{0}}{t}}}}}

Where,

  • a = Acceleration

  • v = Final velocity

  • \rm v_0 = Starting velocity

  • t = Time

SI unit of acceleration is the metre per second square(m/s²) .
