A bus averages 2 miles per hour faster than a car. If the bus travels 190 miles in the same time it takes the car to travel 180 miles, then what is the speed of each?

so, the speed of the bus is x+2
let the time is t
now, for the car, x= 180/t
t = 180/x
for the bus , x+2=190/t
t=190/(x+2)
then from the above equations we can say
180/x = 190/(x+2)
190x-180x = 360
10x = 360
x = 36
so, the speed of car is 36 mile per hour
and the speed of bus is 36+2=38 mile per hour
