v(bus)=distance traveled by bus / time taken=128/2=64
v(train)=240/3=80
v(bus)/v(train)=64/80=8/10=0.8

Saurodip: in the solution
harsha226: what
Saurodip: division 64:80 if we cancell it the direct answer will be 4:5
Saurodip: and you have done 8:10

Speed of a body is the distance covered by the body in unit time.

Therefore Speed= Distance / Time

Speed of the bus (128/2)= 64 km per hour

Speed of the train (240/3 ) = 80 km per hour

Ratio of their speed bus and train = 64 : 80

                                                          =4 : 5
