then let the speed of the bus be x km/h. then time taken by the bus for the first=240/x hrs.
and time taken by the bus after raining to cover the distance=240/x-10
.by the question we have, (240/x-10)-(240/x)=2hrs
.=>2400=2x(x-10)=>
2x²-20x-2400=0=>
x²-10x-1200=0=>
x²-(40-30)x-1200=0=>x(x-40)+30(x-40)=0=>x=40km/h.
hence the speed of the bus=40km/h.
and time taken by the bus after raining to cover the distance=240/x-10
