A bus seems to be travelling slower when our bus overtakes others, but the same bus seems to be travelling fast when it is coming from the opposite direction, why? If Car A is travelling with a velocity of 54 km/hr towards north and car B is travelling with a velocity of 36 km/hr towards the south, what will be the velocity of car A with respect to car B?

Answer:

Its because of the difference in speed,if you are travelling to the same direction as a vehicle, the speed percieved of the other vehicle, would be the difference between yours and his. If you are going at 100 km/h ,and they are going at 80 km/h , it would look like you are slowly overtaking them, but the reality is that this vehicles are going QUITE fast, so thats why when you see them coming from the opposite direction, while traveling also on a vehicle, it would seem like ist going at its speed, plus yours, because you are getting closer to them by your own means.
