Solution :

Given :

▪ Initial speed of bus = zero

▪ Final speed of bus = 50kmph

▪ Time interval = 5min

To Find :

▪ Acceleration of the bus

Concept :

✏ Acceleration is defined as the ratio of change in velocity to the time interval.

✏ It is a vector quantity.

✏ It can be positive, negative and zero.

Conversion :

▪ 1kmph = 5/18mps

▪ 50kmph = 50×5/18 = 13.89mps

▪ 1min = 60s

▪ 5min = 5×60 = 300s

Calculation :

\implies\bf\:a=\dfrac{v-u}{t}\\ \\ \implies\sf\:a=\dfrac{13.89-0}{300}\\ \\ \implies\boxed{\bf{\purple{a=0.05\:ms^{-2}}}}

Given :-

Initial velocity of bus (u)=0

Final velocity (v)= 50km/h

Time (t)= 5minutes

To find

The acceleration of bus

Now by formula

\bigstar{\textsf{\textbf{\underline{\sf{\ \ v=u+at}}}}}

We have.

t= 5min

  • convert in seconds

1min = 60 sec

5min =60×5

time (t)= 300 seconds

And v= 50km/h

\mapsto\sf 1km/h=\dfrac{5}{18}m/s\\ \\ \mapsto\sf 50km/h=\dfrac{5}{18}\times 50 m/s\\ \\ \mapsto\sf 50km/h= \cancel{\dfrac{250}{18}}m/s\\ \\ \mapsto\sf 50km/h= 13.89m/s \ \ [approx ]

Now the acceleration

\implies\sf 13.89=0+a\times 300\\ \\ \implies\sf \dfrac{13.89}{300}=a\\ \\ \implies\sf  0.0463m/s^2=a\\ \\ \implies \ \ \sf or \ a = 0.05m/s^2

\bigstar{\sf{\ \ \: Acceleration = 0.5m/s^2}}
