Given :-

• Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s ( As bus starts from rest)

• Distance, s = 200 m

• Time taken, t = 10 sec

• Mass of bus, m = 5 tonnes /5000 kg

As we know,

1 tonne = 1000 kg

Therefore,

5 tonnes = 5000 kg

To Find :-

Acceleration and force of the bus

Solution :-

To find acceleration, we have to use 2nd equation of motion.

We know,

\green{\boxed{\boxed{\rm S=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^{2}}}}

Now, put the given values

⟹ 200 = 0 × 10 + ½ × a × (10)²

⟹ 200 = 50 a

⟹ a = 200/50

⟹ a = 4 m/s²

Hence, the acceleration of the bus is = 4 m/s²

According to the question, we have to find Force.

We know,

F = ma

Putting the given values, we get

F = 5000 × 4

⟹ F = 20000 N

Hence, the force is = 20000 N

Extra Information :-

• Force = mass × acceleration

• v = u + at (First equation of motion)

• s = ut + ½ at² (Second equation of motion)

• v² = u² + 2as (third equation of motion)

• Pressure = Force/Area
