A bus starts from rest.If the acceleration of the bus is 0.5m/s20.5m/s2,what wil be its velocity at the end of 2minute &what distance will it cover during that time?​

To find:

  • final velocity (v) = ?

Solution:

We know Newton's first kinematic equation i.e, v = u + at

(putting values)...

--> v = 0 + 0.5 × 2

--> v = 1 m/s

We know Newton's second kinematic equation i.e, s = ut + 1/2 × at^2

(putting values)...

--> s = 0 × 2 + 1/2 × 0.5 × (2)^2

--> s = 0 + 1/2 × 0.5 × 4

--> s = 0.5 × 2

--> s = 1 m

Hence, the velocity = 1 m/s & the distance bus traveled in that time = 1 meters.
