Hi ,

Let the cost of one ticket from

Ahmedabad to Anand = Rs X

Cost of one ticket from Ahmedabad to

Vadodara = Rs y

According to the problem given ,

x + y = Rs 140 ---( 1 )

5x + 10y = Rs 1100 ---( 2 )

divide each term in equation ( 2 ) , with 5,

we get ,

x + 2y = 220 ---( 3 )

subtracting equation ( 1 ) from ( 3 ) , we get

y = 80

put y = 80 in equation ( 1 ) , we get

x = 60

Therefore ,

Cost of a ticket from Ahmedabad to Anand

= x = Rs 60

And

Cost of one ticket from Ahmedabad to

Vadodara = y = Rs 80

I hope this helps you.

Dear Student,

Answer:

The total cost of one ticket from Ahmedabad to Anand is 60 rupees

and cost of one ticket from Ahmedabad to Vadodara is 80 rupees

Solution:

Let The total cost of one ticket from Ahmedabad to Anand is x rupees

and one ticket from Ahmedabad to Vadodara is y rupees

So, according to the question x+y = 140 ------ eq1

as he bought 5 tickets from Ahmedabad to Anand and 10 tickets from Ahmedabad to Vadodara for Rs.1100

So eq will be 5x+10y = 1100 ------- eq2

Now you have pair of linear equation in two variable

Substitution method : x +y =140

x = 140-y

put value of x into eq 2

5(140-y)+10y = 1100

700 -5y+10y = 1100

5y = 1100-700

5y = 400

y= 400/5

y= 80

as x+ y =140

x+80 = 140

x = 140-80

x = 60

The total cost of one ticket from Ahmedabad to Anand is 60 rupees

and cost of one ticket from Ahmedabad to Vadodara is 80 rupees

Hope it helps you.
