Answer:

Given,

Distance = 36 km

Time = 40 mins

⇒ Speed = Distance/Time = \frac{36}{40}\ km/min = \frac{9}{10} \ km/min

If distance to be covered is 162 km, then time taken:

Time = Distance/Speed

=\frac{162}{\frac{9}{10}} \\\\=162*\frac{10}{9} \\\\= 18 * 10\\=180\ minutes = 3 \ hours

Therefore, it will take 3 hours to cover a distance of 162 km.

If time taken is 8 hours = 480 mins, then distance covered:

Distance = Speed × Time

=\frac{9}{10} *480\\\\=9*48\\= 432\ km

Therefore, it will cover 432 km in 8 hours.

Answer:

3 hours to cover 162 km,   432km in 8 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

36 km in 40 minutes

1 km in 40/36 minutes

162 km in  40/36 *162 = 180 minutes or 3 hours

it travels 36 km in 40 minutes

so in 60 minutes or 1 hours it travel 54 km

speed of the bus = 54km/h

distance= speed* time

so in 8 hours the bus will travel  8*54 = 432km
