case 1 [travelling]
distance = 120 km 
speed = 40 km /hr
case 2 [returning]
distance=30 km / hr
[calculate the entire average speed]
average speed =total distance travelled /total time taken 
average speed=120 + 120 /t1 + t2
=240/[120/40]+[120/30]
=240 / 3+4
=240/ 7
=34.2 km / hr
