A can do a job in 9/2 days, and B in 9 days. If they are paid ₹ 900 for the job, what will be each persons share ?​

Given:

A can do a job in 9/2 days

B can do a job in 9 days

If they are paid ₹ 900 for the job

To find:

Share of each person

Solution:

So,

In 1 day, the amount of job done by A = \frac{2}{9}

and

In 1 day, the amount of job done by B = \frac{1}{9}

We know that the wages are divided in proportion to the work done.

∴ The ratio of their wages is,

= \frac{2}{9} : \frac{1}{9}

taking the L.C.M. of the denominators and multiplying the L.C.M with each of the ratios

= \frac{2}{9}\times9 : \frac{1}{9}\times 9

= 2:1

Now,

A' share = \frac{2}{2+1} \times 900 = \frac{2}{3}  \times 900 = 2 \times 300 = 600

and

B's share = \frac{1}{2+1} \times 900 = \frac{1}{3}  \times 900 = 300

Thus,
