A can do a piece of work in 14 days, while B can do in 21 days. They begin together but 3
days
before the completion of the work, A leaves off. Find the total number of days taken to complete
the work.​

then

A's 1 day work=3 B's one day work =2

So,

5(x-3) + 2*3 = 42

5x-15+6=42
