Answer:

Work of A per day is 1/20

Work of B per day is 1/30

Together in 7 days is

7/20 +7/30=(21+14)/60=35/60

Balance work is 25/60=5/12

C can do 5/12 work in 10 days

Full work =(12/5)*10=24 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

A can do a piece of work in 30 days and B can do it in 20 days. They work together for 4 days and then B leaves the job

To Find:-

Number of days, A will finish the remaining work

Solution:-

A's 1 day's work = 1/30

B's 1 day's work = 1/20

(A + B)'s 1 day's work = 1/30 + 1/20 = 2 + 3/60 = 5/60 = 1/12

(A + B)'s 4 day's work = 1/12 × 4 = 1/3

Remaining work = 1 - 1/3 = 3 - 1/3 = 2/3

Time taken by A to finish the remaining work = 2/3 ÷ 1/30

→ 2/3 × 30

20 days
