Answer:

8 days

Step-by-step explanation:

A finishes the work in 12 days

B finishes the work in 4 days

L.C.M of 12 and 4 is 12

So, total work = 12

Efficiency of A = 12/12 = 1/day

Efficiency of B = 12/4 = 3/day

A and B wored together for 1 day = 1+3 =4

So, 12-4/12 = 8/12 is remaining work. A should complete it.

Therefore, Time taken by A is 8/12*12 = 8 days
