Answer :-

The whole work is completed in a) 30 days

Explanation :-

A can do a work in 24 days

B can do it in 36 days.

So , by taking LCM of 24 and 36 we get 72

We assume that the total amount of work is 72 units

So , Amount of work done by A is

 = \frac{72}{24} = 3 \: units \: /day

Amount of work done by B is

 = \frac{72}{36} = 2 \: units/day

A and B together complete 5 units per day

They started together and after 4 days A left the work

So , 5 × 4 = 20 units

Remaining work = 72 -20 = 52 units

Now B alone continues so ,

 = \frac{52}{2} = 26 \: days

Therefore total work is completed in 26 + 4 = 30 days.
