Let the maximum pass marks be x
20% of x + 30 = 45% of x - 20
20/100x+30=45/100x−20
20x+3000 = 45x-2000
25x = 5000
x = 5000/25=200
Maximum marks = 200
Minimum pass marks = 20/100×200+30=40+30=70
