A car accelerates from rest at a constant rate 'A'for sometime, after which it retards at a constant rate 'B' to come to rest . if the total time lapse is T second, evaluate the maximum velocity reached and the total distance travelled in terns of A,B and T.

Explanation:

Hey,

Let car start moving in time t1 and retards at time t2; total time take by the car to reach the maximum velocity is【 T = t1+t2】

Condition:1_

when car is moving; u=0

V=u+at => v=At1 eqn…1

Condition:2_

When car is start retarding at time t2,

Since,v=u+at so that u=v-Bt2=> 0=v-Bt2 =>v=Bt2 eqn….

eqn..1=eqn..2 => At1 = Bt2 => t2=At1/B

Total time taken by the car to reach maximum velocity T =t1+t2= t1+At1/B =t1 (1+A/B)
