A car accelerates uniformly from 18km h-¹ to 36 km h–¹ in 5 s . Calculate 1) the acceleration and 2) the distance covered by the car in that time.

18 kmph = 5 m/s
36 kmph = 10 m/s

Acceleration = (v - u) / t
= (10 m/s - 5 m/s) / (5 s)
= 1 m/s²

Distance covered = (v² - u²) / (2a)
= [(10 m/s)² - (5 m/s)²] / (2 × 1 m/s²)
= 37.5 m
