GIVEN:

  • Acceleration of the car = 4 m/s²
  • Initial Velocity (u) = 0 (car starts from rest)
  • Time taken by the car = 2 seconds

TO FIND:

  • What is the displacement of the car ?

SOLUTION:

Firstly, we have to find the final velocity of the car

Let the final velocity of the car be 'v' m/s

To find the final velocity of the car, we use the first equation of motion:-

\Large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: v = u + at \: \star}}}

According to question:-

On putting the given values in the formula, we get

\sf{\longmapsto v = 0 + 4 \times 2}

\sf{\longmapsto v = 0 + 8 }

\bf{\longmapsto v = 8 \: m/s }

  • Final velocity = v = 8 m/s

Let the displacement of the car be 'D' m

We know that the formula for finding the displacement of the car is:-

\large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: VELOCITY = \dfrac{DISPLACEMENT}{TIME} \: \star}}}

According to question:-

\sf{\longmapsto 8 =  \dfrac{D}{2}}

\sf{\longmapsto 8 \times 2 = D }

\bf{\longmapsto 16 \: m = D }

  • Displacement = D = 16 m

Hence, the displacement of the car is 16 m

ANSWER

\Large\underline\bold{GIVEN,}

 \sf\dashrightarrow  acceleration\:(a)= 4m/s^2

 \sf\dashrightarrow  initial\:velocity\:(u)= 0

 \sf\dashrightarrow time\:taken=2 seconds

\Large\underline\bold{TO\:FIND,}

 \sf\dashrightarrow  displacement\:of\:car

ACCORDING TO THE QUESTION,

 \sf\therefore taking \:two\:cases,

 \sf\therefore in\:case\:1\: we\:will\:find\:the\:velocity\:of\:car

 \sf\therefore in\:case\:2\:we\:will\:find\:the\: displacement\:of\:the\:car

\Large\underline\bold{SOLUTION,}

\large {\fbox { CASE:-1}}

 \sf\therefore finding\:the\:final\:velocity\:of\:car

FORMULA USED,

 \sf\large\therefore v=u+at

 \sf\therefore  acceleration\:(a)= 4m/s^2

 \sf\therefore  initial\:velocity\:(u)= 0

 \sf\therefore time\:taken=2 seconds

\sf{\implies v = 0 + 4 \times 2}

\sf{\implies v = 0 + 8 }

\sf{\implies v = 8 m/s }

 \sf\therefore final\:velocity\:=8m/s

\sf{\boxed{\sf{final\:velocity\:of\:the\:car\:is\:8m/s}}}

\large {\fbox {CASE:-2 }}

 \sf\therefore finding\:the\: displacement\:of\:the\:car

FORMULA USED,

 \sf\large\therefore VELOCITY = \dfrac{DISPLACEMENT}{TIME}

\sf{\implies 8 =  \dfrac{D}{2}}

\sf{\implies 8 \times 2 = D }

\bf{\implies 16  m = D }

\sf{\boxed{\sf{d=16m}}}

\large{\boxed{\sf{displacement\:of\:the\:car=16m}}}
