Given:-

→ Final velocity of the car = 20m/s

→ Initial velocity of the car = 0

[ as it starts from rest ]

→ Time taken = 10s

To find:-

→ Distance travelled by the car

Solution:-

Firstly, let's calculate the acceleration of the car by using the 1st equation of motion :-

=> v = u + at

=> 20 = 0 + a(10)

=> 20-0 = 10a

=> 20 = 10a

=> a = 20/10

=> a = 2m/

Hence, we got the acceleration of the car

as 2m/.

Now, let's calculate the distance travelled by using the 2nd equation of motion :-

=> s = ut + 1/2at²

=> s = 0(10) + 1/2×2×(10)²

=> s = 0 + 100

=> s = 100m

Thus, distance travelled by the car is 100m [Option.b].

Some Extra Information:-

The 3 equations of motion for a body moving with uniform acceleration are:-

• v = u +at

• s = ut + 1/2at²

• v² - u² = 2as
