The car starts from rest.
So, the initial velocity of car = 0 km/h = 0 m/s
Final velocity of car = 40 km/h = 11.1111 m/s
Time the car has taken = 30 sec

Acceleration = (final velocity - initial velocity)/time
                      = (11.1111 - 0)/30
                      = 0.37037 m/s²

The acceleration of the car = 0.37037 m/s²

Hope this helps you

40km/hr = 40*1000/60*60 = 11.11m/s

a = v-u/t

u = 0            [as car starts from rest]

a = 11.11 - 0/30

a = 0.37 m/sec^2
