60+40/2
average speed=initial velocity +final velocity/2
100/2

50

realNid: what's the answer
bharatdetha: 48kmph
Ruquaia: I think so formula is for average velocity and question has asked about average speed
Ruquaia: ya 48 is right answer
Ruquaia: plz solve it
Ruquaia: Plzz I want solution anyone can give it
bharatdetha: let the distance be 2x then time for first half will be x/40 that for second half will be x/60 so average speed will be the speed that will help cover 2x distance in time t1 + t2 so 2x ÷ {(x/40)+(x/60)} so average speed is 48kmph
Ruquaia: o thanks sir
bharatdetha: no need for sir anyways hope it helps
Ruquaia: ya it help alot
