Speed of car = Distance / Time = 72/2 = 36km/h Speed of train = Distance/ time. = 120/3 = 40km/r

Ratio of their speed = Speed of car/Speed of train

= 36/40 = 9/10

So answer is 9/10

Given:-

A car covers 72 km in 2 hours.

A train covers 120 km in 3 hours.

Solution:-

We know that,

D = Distance

T = Time

Given that:-

A car covers 72 km in 2 hours.

By the formula:-

Speed\ =  \frac{Distance}{Time}

Substituting their values:-

 Speed\ = \frac{72}{2}  = 36km/hr

∴The speed of the car is 36km/hr

Finding the speed of the train in ratio:

Ratio\ =  \frac{ 36}{40}

\:  \:   \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  =  \frac{9}{10}

Ratio = 9 : 10

∴The ratio of the speed = 9 : 10
