It will cover 649.5 km in half of total travel time.

Given, the total distance (D) covered by the car is equal to 1299 km.

The total time taken (T) to cover this distance is equal to 21 hrs 39 mins.

We know, 60 mins is equal to 1 hour.

So, by unitary method, 1 min is (1/60) hour

Similarly, 39 mins is equal to (39/60) hour = 13/20 hour.

So, T = 21 13/20 hours = 433/20 hours.

So, speed (S) = D/T = (1299/ 433/20) km/hr = (25980/433) km/hr = 60 km/hr

We need to find out the distance the car will travel if speed remains , but the time taken earlier, now reduces to half.

So, time taken now (T') would be (433/40) hours.

Thus, distance travelled = (S×T) = (60 × 433/40) km = 649.5 km
