A car covers a distance of 2 km in 2.5 minutes if it covers half of distance with speed 40 km per hour the rest distance it shall cover with the speed​

Time taken to cover 2 km is 2.5 minutes which is 150 sec

Now the question says that it cover half of the distance i.e 1 km with a speed of 40 kmph i.e 11.1 m/s

hence,

Time taken to cover 1 km will be 1000/11.1 = 90 sec

Hence we are left with 150-90=60 sec to cover up the rest half of the distance which is 1km

so the speed is Distance/Time i.e

S= 1000/60= 16.6 m/s or 60 kmph. :)
