Distance travelled by a car = 3km = 3000m

Time taken = 20 seconds

Speed of the car = \sf\dfrac{3000}{20}

=> \sf{150ms^{-1}}

What is Distance?

The length of the space between two points is called Distance.

Its unit is km,m,cm etc.

WHAT IS TIME?

Time is a component quantity of various measurements used to sequence events, to compare the duration of events or the intervals between them.

Its unit is Hour, min , sec etc.

An object is said to be in motion when it changes its position with equal interval of time.

WHAT IS SPEED?

The rate at which an object changes its position with due interval of time is callef speed.

speed =  \frac{distance}{time}

Its unit is Km/hr , m/sec , m/min etc.

PROBLEM BASED ON THE CONCEPT

GIVEN

Distance = 3km = 3000m

Time = 20 sec.

TO FIND :- Speed

SOLUTION :-

speed =  \frac{distance}{time}  \\  \\  =  \frac{3000}{20}  \\  \\  =  \frac{300}{2}  \\  \\  =  \boxed{150mps}

Hence, the speed of the car is 150m/sec .
