The time taken to complete another half distance with velocity u=60km/h

t2=(x)/(2*60)=x/120 hours ..........(2)

From Eq(1) & (2),

The total time taken, t=t1+t2=(x/80)+(x/120)

=(3x+2x)/240=5x/240

=x/48 hours

Therefore,

The average speed of the car=(x)/(x/48)

= 48 km/h
