A car covers the first half of the distance between two places at a speed of 40 kilometre per hour and the second half at 60 km per hour calculate the average speed of the car?

When moving object cover equal distances with in equal speed the average speed of the object is given by
(2v1 \times v2) \div v1 + v2
therefore average speed = 48km/h
