Answer :-

1.5 m/s²

Given :-

  • Car from rest (Initial velocity = 0)
  • Final velocity = 54km/hr
  • time taken = 10 seconds

i.e

  • u = 0
  • v = 54 km/hr
  • t = 10 seconds

To find :-

  • Acceleration of the body

Solution:-

Acceleration is defined as change in velocity per unit time is called acceleration thus according to definition,

Acceleration = Change in velocity/Time

A = final velocity- Initial velocity/ Time

a = v- u/t

As the final velocity is 54km/hr Lets convert into m/s

1km/hr = 5/18 m/s

54 km/hr = 54 × 5/18

= 3× 5

= 15 m/s

So,

54km/hr = 15m/s

So,

  • Final velocity (v) = 15m/s
  • Initial velocity(u) = 0m/s
  • Time(t) = 10 sec

Substituting the values,

a = v- u/t

a = 15-0/10

a = 15/10

a = 1.5 m/s²

◑So, acceleration of the body is 1.5m/s²

Know more some formulae:-

  • v = u + at
  • s = ut + ½at²
  • v² - u² = 2as
  • u = v-at
  • s = vt-½at²
  • a = F/M

where,

v = Final velocity

u = Initial velocity

s = Distance covered

a = acceleration

F = force

M = mass of the body
