Provided that:

  • Initial velocity = 270 mps
  • Final velocity = 310 mps
  • Time = 1 minute

To calculate:

  • Acceleration

Solution:

  • Acceleration = 0.6 mps sq.

Using concepts:

  • We can use either first equation of motion or acceleration formula to solve this question.

  • Formula to convert minutes into seconds as SI unit of time is seconds.

Using formulas:

Acceleration formula:

  • a = (v-u)/t

First equation of motion:

  • v = u + at

Formula to convert min-sec:

  • 1 min = 60 seconds

Required solution:

~ Firstly let us convert minutes into seconds by using suitable formula!

→ 1 min = 60 seconds

  • Henceforth, converted!

~ Now let us find out the acceleration by using suitable formula!

By using acceleration formula...

→ a = (v-u)/t

→ a = (310-270)/60

→ a = 40/60

→ a = 4/6

→ a = 2/3

→ a = 0.6 mps sq.

→ Acceleration = 0.6 mps sq.

By using first equation of motion...

→ v = u + at

→ 310 = 270 + a(60)

→ 310 - 270 = 60a

→ a = 40/60

→ a = 4/6

→ a = 2/3

→ a = 0.6 mps sq.

→ Acceleration = 0.6 mps sq.

Additional information:

\begin{gathered}\boxed{\begin{array}{c}\\ {\pmb{\sf{Three \: equation \: of \: motion}}} \\ \\ \sf \star \: v \: = u \: + at \\ \\ \sf \star \: s \: = ut + \: \dfrac{1}{2} \: at^2 \\ \\ \sf \star \: v^2 - u^2 \: = 2as\end{array}}\end{gathered}

Question :-

  • A car goes from speed of 270 m/s to 310 m/s in 1 min . What is it Acceleration .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Answer :-

  • Acceleration = 0.6 m/s² .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Explanation :-

  • Here, Initial Velocity is 270 m/s , Final Velocity is 310 m/s and Time is 1 min [ 60 sec ] . We have to calculate the Acceleration .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

◆ Formula Required :-

  • ᴀ = [ v - u ] / ᴛ

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

◆ Here ,

  • ᴀ denotes to Acceleration .
  • v denotes to Final Velocity .
  • u denotes to Initial Velocity .
  • ᴛ denotes to Time .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

By substituting the given values :-

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\dashrightarrow \:  \sf{Acceleration = \frac{310 - 270}{60}  } \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \:  \sf{Acceleration = \frac{40}{60}  } \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \:  \sf{Acceleration =  \frac{4}{6} } \\  \\  \dashrightarrow \:  \sf{Acceleration = 0.6}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hence :-

  • Acceleration = 0.6 m/s² .
