Answer:

4 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

400-240=160

It means that the car has to travel 160 km with a speed of 40km/hr

To get the time taken to complete the journey;

160÷40=4

Hence, the answer is 4hrs.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

total distance = 400 km

case 1: distance covered = 240km

            speed = 60 km/hr

            time = distance/speed = 240/60 = 4 hr

case 2 : distance covered = 400km-240km = 160km

               speed - 40km/hr

               time = distance/speed = 160/40 = 4 hr

total time taken for the journey = 4hr + 4hr = 8hr
