a car is moving in a straight line with speed 18 km per hour it is stopped in 5 seconds by applying the brakes find
i) the speed of car in metre per second
ii) the retardation
iii) the speed of car after 2 seconds of applying the brakes.

i)

speed = 18*5/18

= 5 m/s

ii)

Acceleration = (v-u)/T

= (0-5)/5

= -5/5

 =  \:  -1 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

Retardation =

=  \:  1 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

iii)

Acceleration = (v-u)/T

-1 = (v-5)/2

-1 * 2 = (v-5)

-2 + 5 = v

3 = v

3 m/s = v
