A car is moving with a uniform velocity of 10m/s. the driver of the car decides to overtake the bus moving ahead of the car. So the driver of the car accelerates at 1m/s2 for 10 sec. Find the velocity of the car at the end of 10 sec. also find the distance traveled by the car while accelerating

u = 10 m/sec
a = 1 m/sec²
t = 10 secs
final velocity = v = ?
  v = at + u
     =  (1 m/.sec² × 10 sec) + 10 m/sec
     =  10 m/s + 10 m/sec
     = 20 m/sec

so, final velocity = 20 m/sec

now, for calculating distance traveled by the car during accelerating :-
u = 10 m/sec
t = 10 sec
a = 1 m/sec²

distance traveled = ut + 1/2 × at²
                  = 10 × 10  + 1/2 × 1 × 100
                  = 100 + 50
                 = 150 m

so, distance traveled during accelerating is 150 m.
