Correct question

A car is moving with the acceleration 2m/s² from rest. find the distance travelled by the car in the 5thsecond .

Answer

Given :

Accerlation of the car = 2m/s²

Initial velocity of the car = zero

Time taken = 5 sec

To find :

Distance travelled by the car in 5th second

Solution :

As we are provided with initial velocity, accerlation and time we can use second equation of kenimatics that is

 \boxed{ \bf s = ut +  \dfrac{1}{2}  {at}^{2} }

here,

  • s denotes distance covered
  • u denotes initial velocity
  • t denotes time
  • a denotes acceleration

by substituting all the given values in the equation,

 :  \implies{ \sf s = ut +  \dfrac{1}{2}  {at}^{2} }

 :  \implies{ \sf s = (0)(5) +  \dfrac{1}{2}  {(2)(5)}^{2} }

 :  \implies{ \sf  s = \dfrac{1}{2}   \times 2 \times 25 }

 :  \implies \underline{ \boxed{ \sf s = 25 \: m }}

thus, the distance travelled by the car in 5th second is 25m

Know more :

1st equation of motion : v = u + at

2nd equation of motion : s = ut+ 1/2at²

3rd equation of motion : v² - u² = 2as

Answer:

Given :-

u=0

a=2m/s²

t=5th second

sn=u+a/2×2n-1

s×5=0+2/2×2×5-1

s×5=9

s=9/5

s=1.8m
