Question
A car is travelling with a speed of 36km/hr increases its speed to 108 km/hr with a uniform acceleration of 4m/s^2. Distance travelled by the car to acquire this speed is ?
Answer:
Given , Initial speed , u = 36 km/h
Final speed , v = 108 km/h
Acceleration = 4 m/s²
Distance , s = ?
From 3rd equation of motion ,
v² - u² = 2as
=> (108)² - (36)² = 2(4)s
=> 8 s = 10368
=> s = 1296 m
Hence Distance traveled by the car to acquire this speed is 1296 meters.
