Answer: 24 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the centre of the circles be A(radius 15) ,B(radius 20) and common chord is CD.

Since ,  252=202+152  

△ACB≅△ADB  are right angle triangle . Also,  AB⊥CD  

Area of quadrilateral ACBD=2×Area  △ACB  

=2×0.5×15×20=300cm2  

Again, Area of ACBD  =AB×CD/2=25×CD/2=300  

Therefore, CD=24 cm
