a car moves 100 m due east and then 25m due west .a) what is the distance covered by the car? b) what is its displacement

distance = 100m + 25m = 125m
displacement= 100-25= 75m

a) The distance covered by the car =(100+25)m
=> 125 m
[Because,distance doesn't depend on direction ]

b) The displacement = (100-25)=75m
[Because, Displacements depends on direction. Here is two direction which is ones opposite.]
