a car moves 3 m in X direction take a turn and move 4 m in y direction again take a turn and 10m moves in z direction then find it's distance and displacement?​

Explanation:

As the car is initially moving in the x direction, it would move 3m along the x axis, say towards the right. Now, when it takes a turn in the y direction, that would mean that the car takes a left turn and goes straight ahead for 4 m hence making an angle 90º with the x-axis which is obvious as the question says "in y direction". From here, going 10 m in the z direction would hence create a right angled triangle. The total distance would be the sum of the entire distance covered by the car which is 3+4+10 = 17m.

The displacement, on the other hand would be the shortest distance between the initial and final points which is from A to D as the car, starting from A finally stops at D. Now, referring to the figure drawn, AC, by Pythagora's theorem would be 5m. And hence, AD would be 10-5=5m. Hence, the displacement would be 5m.
