distance = speed × time                 (formula)

where,

distance = 1000 m

speed = 28 m/s

time=\frac{distance}{speed}

time = \frac{1000}{28}time = 35.71 seconds

therefore, the time taken is 35.71 seconds

Provided that:

  • Distance = 1000 m
  • Average speed = 28 m/s

To calculate:

  • Time taken

Solution:

  • Time taken = 35.71 second

Using concept:

  • Average speed formula

Using formula:

• Average speed is given by

  • {\small{\underline{\boxed{\sf{Average \: speed \: = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}}}}}}

It can be also written as

  • {\small{\underline{\boxed{\sf{v \: = \dfrac{s}{t}}}}}}

Knowledge required:

  • SI of distance is metre
  • SI of average speed is m/s
  • SI of time is second

Required solution:

~ To solve this question we have to put the values and further solve according to the mentioned formula!

:\implies \sf Average \: speed \: = \dfrac{Distance}{Time} \\ \\ :\implies \sf v \: = \dfrac{s}{t} \\ \\ :\implies \sf 28 = \dfrac{1000}{t} \\ \\ :\implies \sf t = \dfrac{1000}{28} \\ \\ :\implies \sf t = \cancel{\dfrac{1000}{28}} \\ \\ :\implies \sf t = 35.71 \: seconds \\ \\ :\implies \sf Time = 35.71 \: seconds \\ \\ {\pmb{\sf{Henceforth, \: solved!}}}
